Functional and fun! Learn to create great pouring pots (known as “cruets”): an oil and vinegar set, a soy sauce drizzler, or any spouted vessel for a favorite liquid condiment to add an interesting accent to the table. Using wheel-thrown parts that are then handbuilt together, students will discover versatile ways to approach the cruet form. Demonstrations will include throwing off the hump and creating a custom trimming chuck for rounded pots. Surface decoration and design will be discussed with examples of finished cruets. Basic wheel-throwing skills needed. Students may leave their greenware to be bisque-fired at the Art School.
